To prepare for the Village Politics and Government Practical, the PPI Study Program holds a ToT (Training Training).

The Islamic Political Thought Study Program of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Religious Studies of UIN Mataram held a Launching of the Training of Trainers for the Practical Course of Village Politics and Government on Wednesday, April 16, 2026, at the Library Theater Room, 2nd Floor, UIN Mataram. This activity started at 08.00 WITA and was attended by Faculty Leaders, Study Program Leaders, Lecturers and Resource Persons, as well as students in the Village Politics and Government lectures, including students who have an interest in strengthening practical learning, field research, and student capacity development.

This activity raises the theme “Survey on the Popularity and Accessibility of Village Head Candidates in West Lombok Regency.” This theme demonstrates the learning direction of the Islamic Political Thought Study Program, which increasingly emphasizes the close relationship between academic capacity building, research practice, and direct observation of local political dynamics. Through this forum, students are introduced to practical orientation, training frameworks, and the importance of mastering survey instruments to more measurably and systematically assess the popularity and accessibility of village head candidates.

In his remarks, Dr. Nursyamsu, M.Ud., Deputy Dean III of FUSA UIN Mataram, expressed his appreciation for the event, which he said was part of strengthening a productive academic atmosphere within the faculty. He emphasized that such activities are crucial for developing active, well-trained students who are prepared to directly engage with socio-political realities.

The next remarks were delivered by the Secretary of the Islamic Political Thought Study Program, Very Wahyudi, MA. He emphasized that this activity has strategic significance for the development of the Islamic Political Thought Study Program, particularly in strengthening the practical and field research dimensions. He stated that Islamic Political Thought students need to be accustomed from the outset to connecting political discourse with the social realities of society, so that learning does not stop in the theoretical realm.

Meanwhile, Agus Dedi Putrawan, MSI, Lecturer in Village Politics and Government, explained that this practicum was designed to provide both methodological practice and a platform for developing students' analytical skills. Through a survey of the popularity and accessibility of village head candidates in West Lombok Regency, students are expected to understand village politics as a concrete, complex reality that demands careful analysis of actors, networks, public perceptions, and patterns of social support.

Through this activity, the Islamic Political Thought Study Program at FUSA UIN Mataram demonstrated its commitment to providing more applicable, contextual, and relevant learning that is closely connected to the socio-political context of society. This launch also serves as an important sign that course practicums are not merely viewed as a supplement to lectures, but as an integral part of developing the academic capacity of PPI students.
